Part reference
Unicel C-7470-4
The Unicel C-7470-4 is the four-pack of the C-7470 replacement cartridge for the Clean & Clear Plus 320 filter system.
C-7470-4 is the Unicel part number for the four-pack of the C-7470 cartridge. The suffix -4 means a set of four, not a different or larger cartridge. Each cartridge in a C-7470-4 is a standard C-7470. The four-pack exists because the filter this cartridge fits, the Clean & Clear Plus 320, takes four cartridges, so the set is the normal way to buy them.
Specifications
| Length | 20 1/16 in |
|---|---|
| Outer diameter | 7 in |
| Top opening | 3 in |
| Bottom opening | 3 in |
| Filtration area | 80 sq ft |
| Media | 4 oz polyester |
These are the specs of each of the four cartridges in the pack. The set totals 320 sq ft of filtration.
Why the four-pack is the standard order
The Clean & Clear Plus 320 holds four cartridges at once. When they reach the end of their life they tend to reach it together, so replacing the whole set is both normal and correct. Buying the C-7470-4 four-pack rather than four singles is simply the packaged version of that.
Replacing all four at the same time keeps them the same age. A single new cartridge among three worn ones takes uneven load and wears out early, so the set approach protects the new cartridges.
How to verify the four-pack is right for you
If your cartridge reads C-7470, or any of its cross-referenced equivalents, and your filter is a Clean & Clear Plus 320, the C-7470-4 four-pack is the correct order. Confirm by the cartridge dimensions if the printing has worn: 20 1/16 inches long, 7 inches across, 3 inch openings at each end.
